The Oregon Family Support Network (OFSN) is providing technical assistance in recruiting and preparing youth and family members to have their voices heard in all aspects of the Statewide Children’s Wraparound Initiative. OFSN will bring together a Family and Youth Organization Committee to build a family-run, youth-guided organization with the capacity to provide services, supports, oversight and evaluation of the System of Care developed for the Statewide Children’s Wraparound Initiative.
OFSN was founded in 1991 to address the overwhelming need to assist families with navigating the complex maze to access resources and support at the federal, state and local community levels for children and adolescents with special needs (behavioral, emotional, mental, physical, etc.). OFSN staff and volunteers are working together to build and maintain a critical support network across the state of Oregon and beyond. OFSN Director Jammie Farish and Board President Sandy Bumpus were involved in the planning effort that culminated in the Steering Committee Report and Recommendations. OFSN will work closely with partner agencies, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) and Native American Rehabilitation Association (NARA), to ensure broad, inclusive and diverse representation.
