Wraparound Oregon outcomes relate to improvement in the well-being of the children, families, and
neighborhoods the system serves. The initiative, through a partnership with Portland State University’s
Regional Research Institute for Human Services (“School-age Project") will collect data on
the target
population characteristics as well as information about child and family characteristicswhich will be useful
in an analysis of how well the initiative has performed. Outcome data will beincorporated into decisions
affecting service delivery and system development.
Objectives:
Create integrated services and resources for children and youth who are multi-system involved and
who are at the higher end of the mental health continuum.
- Increase intensive, community-based services aimed at keeping children in their own homes, in
their own schools, and out of trouble. - Increase capacity to serve children in their own homes or permanent placements.
- Improve youth functioning in education, mental health, criminal/delinquent behaviors, substance
use and developmental assets. - Increase the levels of family involvement, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Have family and youth/child needs met.
Intermediate Outcomes:
- Program develops a practice model for wraparound that reflects the wraparound principles and
best practice. - Each youth has as individualized plan, implemented with fidelity to wraparound principles and
best practices. - Funds are adequate to meet needs of youth and families.
- Care is coordinated.
- Services and supports are developed that meet the needs of the child and family.
- Families are involved and engaged.
- Youth move toward permanency in family setting.
- Family stress is reduced.
Long-term outcomes:
- Service system will develop the capacity to support and sustain high quality wraparound practice.
- Youth will live in community with family or in a family-like setting.
- Youth will maintain or develop links to extended family members.
- Youth functioning will improve (education, mental health, involvement with juvenile justice,
substance use).
